Cafeteria workers for Feb. 19-22:  Isabelle Zimmer, Logan Amato, Sophia Baca, Meghan Belden, Gabe Bond, Avery Leimeister.  You will need to leave class a few minutes early for lunch duty.  Lunch is $ .40 on the days that you serve.  If you are unable to serve, it is YOUR responsibility to find a replacement.
  1. Saturday School from 8 AM – 1 PM:  You can get help with a specific subject, have computer and scan time or bring your binder and get help getting organized!   Come for a while or stay the whole time:  Feb. 23 (Mrs. Swiger), Mar. 2 (Mrs. Swiger), Mar. 9 (Mrs. Swiger)  3RD QUARTER ENDS MARCH 15.

Shop News:  Shop orders are due Tuesday, February 19th.  Orders will be sent home or ready for pick up on Friday, February 22nd.  Weekly bonuses include: Old Navy/Gap/Banana Republic/Athleta 4% bonus (18% total rebate) from February 16 through March 1.  Questions? Make-up Days?

Parents of Norwalk Catholic School Students:

Beginning the 2014-2015 School Year, the Ohio Legislature allowed schools to meet the minimum standards utilizing hours instead of days. Norwalk Catholic School far exceeds the minimum hours required for education in a school year. Currently we have used six calamity days because of bad weather. According to our educational hours already scheduled beyond the minimum requirements, we are not in a position to make up days at this time.

In past years, during an unusually severe winter, schools would look for legislative relief from the formerly five calamity days. The legislature provided that relief on an annual basis when they identified hours instead of days to meet minimum standards. This is the reason NCS does not have to make up time missed so far this winter.

You may find teachers assigning some project based learning activities to help support the meeting of educational standards during this school year. You also may see some projects that were formerly done at school being shared between home and school. This is a way our teaching staff can make up for some of the time lost.  We thank you for your patience and support during these challenging winter months.
